HC Deb 05 March 1906 vol 153 c71
MR. BRYN ROBERTS

To ask the Secretary of State for War whether his attention has been called to a speech delivered by Colonel Davies, of the Imperial Light Horse, at Johannesburg on the 27th of January last, in which he referred to the First Lord of the Treasury and his supporters as that just and hon. right hon. Gentleman, they could put the name themselves, but it began with C. B., and his satellites, and attributed to them cowardice, scurrility, and falsehood; and whether he proposes to take any, and what, action in the matter.

(Answered by Mr. Secretary Haldane.) I am afraid that my hon. friend is mistaken in supposing that this matter comes within the purview of the Secretary of State for War.
