HC Deb 28 June 1906 vol 159 c1109
CAPTAIN CRAIG (Down, E.)

To ask the Secretary of State for War whether his attention has been called to the inadequacy of the accommodation provided for the officers and men of the British Legation guard at Pekin; whether, in view of the fact that the Legation's civil quarters are excellent, and the German and Dutch military are properly accommodated, he will take steps to provide suitable quarters for the British guard; and whether he is aware that there is no hospital for the British military garrison.

(Answered by Mr. Secretary Haldane.) The provision of suitable accommodation for the British Legation guard at Pekin and of a hospital is at the present moment being carefully considered, and it is hoped that a decision will be reached at an early date.
