HC Deb 28 June 1906 vol 159 cc1109-10
MR. JOHN DEWAR (Inverness)

To ask the Secretary of State for War if he has received a petition from over 300 men in South Uist, asking that an additional squadron may be added to the Lovat Scouts, as a large number of men in that district are anxious to join the regiment; and whether having regard to the high character of this regiment and the excellent material to be obtained in recruits from that district, he is able to grant the request.

(Answered by Mr. Secretary Haldane.) The petition has been received, and has been referred to the General Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Scottish Command, for report.
