HC Deb 25 June 1906 vol 159 c632
* MR. REES (Montgomery Boroughs)

I beg to ask the Secretary of State for War whether, in view of the evidence Lord Roberts gave before the South African War Commission, any action has been taken or is contemplated in order to the provision of a sufficient number of British officers for native regiments in the Indian Army in time of war.

MR. BUCHANAN

An Inter-Departmental Committee which assembled in April last to inquire into the sources of supply of officers for the Indian Army has quite recently issued its Report. This Report is now being considered.
