HC Deb 20 June 1906 vol 159 cc189-90
MR. O'SHAUGHNESSY (Limerick, W.)

I beg to ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord- Lieutenant of Ireland whether he is aware that Simon Morrissey, who was in occupation of the farms of James Murphy and Laurence O'Connell, evicted tenants on the Shelton estate at Rossmore, in the county of Limerick, left the country about two years ago, and that the farms are since derelict; and whether, under these circumstances, the Estates Commissioners will approach the landlord immediately with a view to their reinstatement.

MR. BRYCE

The Estates Commissioners inform me that they have received applications for reinstatement from the persons named, and that they will have the cases duly inquired into by one of their inspectors with a view to effecting a settlement.

MR. O'SHAUGHNESSY

When will the Inspector make the inquiries?

MR. BRYCE

I am afraid it is impossible to fix a time, as there is a good deal of work on hand.
