§ SIR J. DICKSON-POYNDER (Wiltshire, Chippenham)I beg to ask the Under-Secretary of State for the Colonies whether effect is to be given to the recommendations of the Departmental Committee on Agricultural Settlements in British Colonies, by reorganising the emigrants information office under the title of the Emigration Office, by extending its functions as suggested by the Committee, and by increasing the annual grant-in-aid sufficiently to provide for the necessary increase of permanent staff.
§ MR. CHURCHILLIt is intended that the substance of the Report shall form one of the subjects to be discussed at the forthcoming Colonial Conference; and in the meantime His Majesty's Government do not propose to come to any decision on the recommendations made by the Committee.
