HC Deb 04 July 1906 vol 160 cc13-4
MR. C. E. PRICE (Edinburgh, Central)

To ask the Secretary of State for War whether orders have been issued for the destruction of emergency rations (tinned food) held in the London District Command; and, if so, whether these orders apply to food tinned in this country.

(Answered by Mr. Secretary Haldane.) The emergency rations held in the London District have been destroyed, having deteriorated and become unfit for issue. They consisted of cocoa and pemmican and were manufactured for the South service and will not keep in good condition for more than a few years. They were tinned in this country.
