HC Deb 02 July 1906 vol 159 c1430
MR. WEIR

I beg to ask the Secretary for Scotland whether he is aware that the quantity of line caught fish landed in Scotland during the year 1905 was 50 per cent. less than ten years ago; and, seeing that this decline is attributable to the fishing beds being injured through illegal trawling, will he state when he proposes to provide the Fishery Board with another cruiser for sea police service.

MR. SINCLAIR

I am aware that there has been a great decrease in the quantity of line-caught fish in Scotland during recent years, but the decline may be attributable to other causes besides that referred to by the hon. Member. The funds at the disposal of the Fishery Board are not yet sufficient for the purchase of another cruiser.
