§ SIR CHARLES McLARENI beg to ask the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs whether the attention of the Foreign Office has been called to proposals now before the Swedish Legislature for the imposition of an export-tax on Swedish magnetic iron ore, an article which is essential in the manufacture of iron in this Country; and whether he will cause inquiries to be made on the subject, and make representations to the Swedish Government with a view to causing such proposals to be abandoned.
