§ MR. MARKHAM (Nottinghamshire, Mansfield)To ask the Secretary of State for War whether he is aware that the Natal Mounted Police were precluded from attending the King's birthday parade with Imperial troops; that the Minister of Justice, in reply to a Question asked in the Natal Parliament, stated that, though Ministers desired this force should take part in the parade to demonstrate their loyalty to their Sovereign, they withdrew their request owing to questions of military etiquette having been raised; and will he say who was responsible for raising these questions of military etiquette, seeing that the Natal Mounted Police have, except when fighting, always attended the parades in honour of the birthdays of the late Queen Victoria.
