§ MR. JENKINSI beg to ask the Secretary to the Admiralty whether he is aware that Messrs. Thorneycroft, Government contractors, Southampton, have sub-let some painting work on their new torpedo boat and on the trooper "Reiva"; whether the Admiralty countenance the sub-letting of contracts; and whether, seeing that these subcontractors are not paying the trade union rate of wages for the district, he proposes to take any steps to secure the observance of the fair wages resolution.
