HC Deb 05 December 1906 vol 166 cc922-3
MR. O'MALLEY (Galway, Connemara)

To ask the Secretary to the Treasury whether, in view of the fact that only three clerks in Irish offices were subjected to a 10 per cent. deduction from their salaries as temporary clerks on appointment as abstractors, he will again consider the question of adjusting their salaries and refunding the deduction made; and whether he will state in what way the cases in which no deductions were made differed from the other three cases referred to.

(Answered by Mr. McKenna.) I am afraid I cannot add anything to the Answer which my hon. friend gave the hon. Member on the 23rd ultimo,† namely, that all the cases were fully considered on their merits, and that I see no reason for varying the decision arrived at.
