§ MR. HUDSON (Newcastle-on-Tyne)I beg to ask the Postmaster-General if his attention has been called, by petition or otherwise, to the alleged grievances of the postmen of Newcastle-on-Tyne 1366 respecting the introduction of drill qualification as a necessity for appointment to the position of assistant inspectorship of telegraph messengers; and whether he can say if ordinary postmen of service will be allowed to occupy those positions.
§ MR. SYDNEY BUXTONA memorial on this subject has been received from the postmen at Newcastle-on-Tyne. The question raised is one which affects the whole country, and not Newcastle alone, and is under consideration.
