HC Deb 02 August 1906 vol 162 c1326
MR. SLOAN (Bolfast, S.)

To ask the Secretary of State for War whether he is aware that on Empire Day, Colonel Fortescue, of Pembroke Camp, Malta, had his full band, who are almost entirely Protestants, playing at a Roman Catholic fête at the Jesuit College in Malta; and whether, seeing that the bandsmen themselves were unwilling to attend these proceedings, he can say by whose authority and for what reason they wore compelled to do so.

(Answered by Mr. Secretary Haldane.) No information has been received at the War Office as to the matters alleged in the Question.
