MR. HERBERT ROBERTSI beg to ask the First Lord of the Treasury whether, in view of the fact that no opportunity has been given this session for the discussion of Indian affairs, he will arrange for the Indian Budget to be taken at an early date after the Whitsuntide recess.
§ MR. A. J. BALFOURI am anxious, if possible, to bring on the Indian Budget early this year, and I have been considering the matter with my right hon. friend the Secretary for India. I cannot give a pledge, but I still hope to be able to carry out some plan by which an early discussion will be secured.
