HC Deb 08 May 1905 vol 145 c1125
MR. SWIFT MACNEILL

I beg to ask the Secretary of State for India whether Lord Kitchener has tendered his resignation of the position of Commander-in-Chief of the Army in India; and, if so, will he say whether that resignation, if accepted, will take effect in July next; and what is the reason of the tender of his resignation of the Indian command by Lord Kitchener.

* THE SECRETARY OF STATE FOR INDIA (Mr. BRODRICK,) Surrey, Guildford

Lord Kitchener authorises me to state that he has not tendered his resignation, and there is therefore no question of accepting or not accepting.
