Rural District Councillors as Extern Teachers of Male Evening Schools

To ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord - Lieutenant of Ireland if he will state whether any particular disability attaches to rural district councillors as extern teachers of male evening schools.

(Answered by Mr. Walter Long.) Under Rule 88 (b) of the Commissioners' Rules, rural district councillors cannot be recognised as national school teachers. This rule is held to disqualify such persons from recognition as teachers of evening schools.
