HC Deb 03 May 1905 vol 145 cc815-6
MR. O'KELLY (Mayo, N.)

To ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord-Lieutenant of Ireland if he will state the number of police ordinarily stationed in Belmullet, county Mayo, and if this number has been recently exceeded; and, if so, will he state the reason.

(Answered by Mr. Walter Long.) The fixed strength of the police in the district of Belmullet is forty-six. The present number is fifty. The increase has been necessitated by the outrages and boy- cotting which have recently taken place in the district.
