To ask the Lord-Advocate whether he will consider the advisability of giving power to the Congested Districts Board (Scotland) to raise money on the security of land already purchased with the object of providing funds for further land purchase.

(Answered by Mr. Scott Dickson.) The Secretary for Scotland is desirous of extending the effective power of the Congested Districts Board in the sense indicated by the hon. Member, and the matter is now under his consideration.
