PEEL (Manchester, S.)I beg to ask the Under-Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs whether a concession of, or option over, a tract of land in British East Africa has been granted to the Zionists; if so, what is the position and the acreage of the concession or option; what are the terms and conditions of the arrangement with the Zionists; who are their representatives; and whether, in view of the present policy of the Department, he will refuse to grant large concessions or options of land in East Africa to a private community or association.
§ THE UNDER-SECRETARY OF STATE FOR FOREIGN AFFAIRS (Earl PERCY, Kensington, S.)No further step has yet been taken in regard to the allotment of land to the Zionists. We are awaiting the Report of the Commission which is now on its way home, and, as I stated last year, the correspondence will be laid before a final decision is arrived at.
