HC Deb 21 March 1905 vol 143 cc637-8
MAJOR SEELY (Isle of Wight)

I beg to ask the Secretary of State for War what is the number of infantry now quartered in the British Isles, India, South Africa, Egypt, and other stations.

MR. ARNOLD-FORSTER

It is not usual to publish details of the actual strengths of the troops quartered at home and abroad, and I am not prepared in the present instance to depart from this practice. The general Annual Report, which will be issued in a few days, gives the numbers asked for by the hon. Member on October 1st, 1904.
