To ask the Secretary to the Board of Trade if he can state the amount of money paid to seamen on their discharge from British ships at the following ports, namely, Rotterdam, Antwerp, and Hamburg, during the year 1904; and whether ho can state the amount of money transmitted by the Board of Trade to this country from the ports named during the same period.

The amount of money paid to seamen on their discharge from British ships at the ports referred to during the year 1904 was: at Rotterdam, £62,421; at Antwerp, £104,099; at Hamburg, £56,139; and the amounts received by the British Consuls for transmission to this country during the same period were: Rotterdam, £19,387; Antwerp, £30,368; and Hamburg, £20,233.
