HC Deb 16 March 1905 vol 143 c184
MR. SLOAN

To ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord-Lieutenant of Ireland whether it is the intention of the Government to bring in a Bill this session for the compulsory education of the blind under similar conditions to that at present existing in England and Scotland; and, if not, will any steps be taken to give effect to any of the recommendations of the Royal Commission of 1885.

(Answered by Mr. Atkinson.) The recommendations of the Royal Commission can only be given effect to by legislation. The question of the introduction of legislation in the present session is under consideration by my right hon. friend.
