HC Deb 26 June 1905 vol 148 c62
MR. MACVEAGH

To ask the Postmaster-General whether he can state the number of postmasterships which have been filled in Great Britain and Ireland from 1st January, 1895, to the 1st January, 1905, and the salary in each case; also the number of those in Great Britain which have been filled by officials drawn from the Irish service and the number in Ireland which have been filled by officials from Great Britain, with the salary in each case.

(Answered by Lord Stanley.) The preparation of the Return asked for by the hon. Member would be troublesome and expensive, and as I do not think it would serve any useful purpose I regret that I cannot undertake to furnish it.
