§ MR. THOMAS O'DONNELLI beg to ask the Secretary to the Treasury whether he intends to appoint a Committee of the House to inquire into the Irish Teachers' Pension Fund, with a view to suggest improvements or alterations of the present system.
§ MR. VICTOR CAVENDISHAs I have stated on previous occasions, I consider the appointment of a Committee would be premature until we are in possession of the results of the quinquennial valuation, which takes place at the close of this year.
§ MR. THOMAS O'DONNELLWhen I raised the question before, the hon. Gentleman promised to consider the appointment of this Committee apart from the Departmental Committee.
§ MR. VICTOR CAVENDISHYes, but my decision must rest upon the Report of the Departmental Committee.
