HC Deb 27 July 1905 vol 150 c617
MR. THOMAS O'DONNELL

I beg to ask the Secretary to the Treasury whether he intends to appoint a Committee of the House to inquire into the Irish Teachers' Pension Fund, with a view to suggest improvements or alterations of the present system.

MR. VICTOR CAVENDISH

As I have stated on previous occasions, I consider the appointment of a Committee would be premature until we are in possession of the results of the quinquennial valuation, which takes place at the close of this year.

MR. THOMAS O'DONNELL

When I raised the question before, the hon. Gentleman promised to consider the appointment of this Committee apart from the Departmental Committee.

MR. VICTOR CAVENDISH

Yes, but my decision must rest upon the Report of the Departmental Committee.
