HC Deb 20 July 1905 vol 149 c1367
MR. MACVEAGH (Down, S.)

To ask the Secretary of State for the Colonies whether his attention has been called to the statement of Sir Fleetwood Wilson at the War Stores Commission to the effect that the cause of the disappearance of the missing papers was that a rat got in to the store in which the papers were kept, and that the medical officer ordered the destruction of the papers in order to prevent a plague; whether he can state if the medical officer's report was verbal or written; and whether he can communicate the details to the House.

(Answered by Mr. Secretary Lytteldton.) The details in connection with the matter referred to have already been communicated to the House in reply to a Question put by the hon. Member for South Donegal on February 8th†. 1904, to which I have nothing to add.
