HC Deb 19 July 1905 vol 149 c1181
SIR ELLIOTT LEES (Birkenhead)

I beg to ask the hon. Member for Chorley, as representing the First Commissioner of Works, whether the drawings relating to the proposed removal of a national monument, erected by Parliament in Westminster Abbey to the memory of Captain Cornewall in 1744, which the First Commissioner suggested should be laid before the other House of Parliament, may be laid before this House also.

LORD BALCARRES (Lancashire, Chorley)

The First Commissioner will be happy to ask the Dean of Westminster for another copy for the use of the House of Commons.

SIR ELLIOTT LEES

was understood to ask that the plans should show the available floor space?

LORD BALCARRES

I will convoy that wish to the First Commissioner. It is an outlined drawing and not a shaded drawing, I think.

SIR ELLIOTT LEES

And will the wish be conveyed to the Dean of Westminster?

LORD BALCARRES

assented.
