VINCENT KENNEDYI beg to ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord-Lieutenant of Ireland if he will state the number of evicted tenants in county Cavan; the number of applications filed for reinstatement; and how many evicted tenants have been actually reinstated, distinguishing between those who were restored to their old homes and those for whom new farms were procured.
§ MR. WALTER LONGThe Estates Commissioners are unable to answer the first inquiry. Applications for reinstatement have been made by 158 evicted tenants from the county; of these five have been restored to their former holdings, and one has been provided with a farm elsewhere.
