HC Deb 17 July 1905 vol 149 cc887-8
MR. JOHN REDMOND (Waterford)

I beg to ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord-Lieutenant of Ireland whether the Commissioners of National Education in Ireland have taken into their consideration the statement and resolution which the Catholic Bishops of Ireland, with the Cardinal Archbishop of Armagh in the chair, adopted on the 14th ult., in opposition to the policy of amalgamating boys' and girls' schools; and, if so, whether the Commissioners propose to make any modification of the rules to which the Catholic hierarchy have taken objection.

MR. WALTER LONG

I am in communication with the Commissioners in this matter, and will ask the hon. and learned Gentleman to repeat the Question on Wednesday.
