HC Deb 10 July 1905 vol 149 c75
MR. DELANTY (Queen's County, Ossory)

To ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord-Lieutenant of Ireland whether he will state on what grounds he refuses to grant the independent inquiry asked for into the methods of promotion prevailing in the Irish Agricultural Department, seeing that the Press and the local bodies in Ireland have repeatedly expressed the view that the facts demand an independent examination.

(Answered by Mr. Walter Long.) I have already stated that I have carefully looked into the facts of this case, and am satisfied that no further inquiry is called for. I have nothing to add to that statement.
