HC Deb 20 February 1905 vol 141 c615
MR. SLOAN

I beg to ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord Lieutenant of Ireland, whether, in view of the fact that the case against Rev. M. MacDonnell, Roman Catholic administrator, was dismissed by a majority of magistrates at Westport on the 16th instant, on the charge of knocking down and kicking a young man named MacAskall on the 6th ultimo, while under police protection, he will order further inquiry into the whole circumstances of the case.

MR. WYNDHAM

The case has been heard and determined by the tribunal appointed by law to entertain it. I have no power to direct any further inquiry into the matter.
