HC Deb 20 February 1905 vol 141 cc613-4
MR. J. P. FARRELL

I beg to ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord-Lieutenant of Ireland if he will state the name or names of the officials of the Local Government Board for Ireland at whose suggestion the Public Accounts Order, 1899, has been abrogated and a new series of forms of account for county, district, and urban councils set up; whether he is aware that the proposed new machinery will entail extra labour on local clerks and officials, and has been objected to as costly and unnecessary by the county councils in Ireland; and, if so, is it intended to enforce this new Order?

MR. WYNDHAM

The hon. Member"s attention does not appear to have been directed to my reply to the somewhat similar Question of the 16th instant.†The recent Order was made by the Board. The reply to the concluding inquiry is in the affirmative.
