HC Deb 08 August 1905 vol 151 c596
MR. FIELD (Dublin, St. Patrick)

To ask the Postmaster-General whether he will take into consideration the advisability of allowing Members of Parliament, when attending the House, to post free of charge all correspondence from the House of Commons.

(Answered by Lord Stanley.) The Act 3 and 4 Vic, c. 96, expressly abolished certain privileges of free postage which Members of Parliament had previously enjoyed. I do not think it would be right to introduce legislation for the purpose of restoring any privileges of this character.
