HC Deb 08 August 1905 vol 151 cc601-2
MR. JAMES O'CONNOR (Wicklow, W.)

To ask the Secretary to the Treasury whether he is aware that some registered Civil Service writers, who have been promoted to permanent posts in the service, are allowed to count the whole of their previous temporary service towards pension, while others who belonged to the same class and who entered the service under similar regulations as to pensions are allowed on similar promotion to count only one-half of their temporary service, amounting in some cases to thirteen-sixtieths of their salary; and, if † See page 349. so, whether he will see that the latter are granted a similar concession.

(Answered by Mr. Victor Cavendish.) I am not prepared to make any alteration in the existing regulations.
