HC Deb 04 August 1905 vol 151 c247
MR. KILBRIDE (Kildare, S.)

To ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord-Lieutenant of Ireland whether he is aware that on the 27th of June last, on the occasion of an excursion by the Catholic Temperance Society of Limavady to Larne, the Protestant band turned out in the evening and created a disturbance, and blocked the way of the excursionists to the railway station when returning, and will he explain why the police did not interfere: whether any prosecutions have followed; and, if so, the nature and result of such prosecutions.

(Answered by Mr. Walter Long.) I assume that this Question refers to the proceedings at Limavady. The Protestant band did not turn out at that place, nor was the way to the railway station blocked. About 150 persons assembled at the railway station, but these were mostly friends of the excursionists. No breach of the peace occurred, and no prosecution, therefore, was instituted. There was no disturbance at Larne.
