MR. CHARLES CRAIG

I beg to ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord-Lieutenant of Ireland if he will grant a Return showing the number and nature of outrages committed in the province of Connaught and in the counties of Clare, Cork, Limerick, Kerry, Tipperary, Queen's County, and King's County, which have been reported by the police to the Irish Government since 1st December, 1904; and whether, in respect of any such reported outrages, any orders were issued by the Irish Executive that they were not to be included or mentioned in the reports furnished to the Judges of Assize in these counties or any of them; and, if so, will he state the number of outrages in respect of which such orders were given.

I beg also to ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord-Lieutenant of Ireland whether he will grant a Return showing the number and nature of outrages, assaults on persons, attacks on property, and disturbances in the province of Ulster which have been reported by the police to the Irish Government since 1st December, 1901; and whether, in respect of any such reported outrages, any orders were issued by the Irish Executive that they were not to be included or mentioned in the reports furnished to the Judges of Assize in these counties or any of them; and, if so, will he state the number of outrages in respect of which such orders were given.

Returns of all outrages or other offences of an indictable character reported by the police in each county of Ireland, since the date mentioned, will be prepared and laid on the Table. No orders of the nature indicated in the second part of the Questions were issued by the Executive or by the Constabulary authorities.
