NANNETTII beg to ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord-Lieutenant of Ireland, as representing the Board of Works, whether any appointment has been made of clerk of works in connection with the building of the proposed College of Science in Dublin; if so, to whom has this appointment been given; by whom was the appointment made; and whether such appointment is for a portion of the work only.

VICTOR CAVENDISHThe only appointment of a clerk of works has been made by the Board of Works in connection with a special contract for the removal of old buildings from the site of the proposed college and for the excavation of its foundations. The name of the gentleman appointed is Mr. J. A. Lawrie.
