HC Deb 13 April 1905 vol 145 c44
MR. FIELD (Dublin, St. Patrick)

To ask the Secretary to the Hoard of Trade whether, in view of the fact that insurance companies are organisations mainly dealing with trust funds, the Government will consider the advisability of introducing legislation to enable them to exercise scrutiny and supervision respecting their operations, and also the conditions upon which life policies are issued and forfeitures enforced of premiums, paid.

(Answered by Mr. Bonar Law.) The hon. Member is no doubt aware of the provisions of the Life Insurance Companies Act, 1870; the Board of Trade have no present intention of introducing, amending legislation.
