§ MR. BOLAND (Kerry, S.)I beg to ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord-Lieutenant of Ireland whether he can state what progress has been made with the negotiations for improving the ferry communications between Reenard and Valentia under the Marine Works Act.
§ MR. ATKINSONThe Congested Districts Board have offered to contribute £1,000 towards the cost—estimated at £1,800—of erecting a pier at Reenard Point, but no contribution from other sources has been promised. The Great Southern and Western Railway Company, it is understood, are not prepared to cooperate with the Board. The Knight of Kerry stated last year that he was prepared to provide a ferry-boat if the pier were built.
