HC Deb 11 April 1905 vol 144 c1253
MR. WEIR

To ask the Secretary of State for the Colonies whether any companies have yet been formed with a view to the cultivation of cotton in British North Borneo; and can he state whether any samples of native cotton have been submitted to British valuers; and, if so, with what result.

(Answered by Mr. Secretary Lyttelton.) We are informed that a company is in course of formation with a view to the cultivation of rubber with catch crops of cotton in British North Borneo. Samples of native cotton have been examined and have been favourably reported upon.
