HC Deb 17 May 1904 vol 135 c37
CAPTAIN ELLICE (St. Andrews Burghs)

To ask the Secretary of State for the Colonies whether any arrangement has been arrived at with Lord Milner with regard to the sale of intoxicants to the Chinese labourers who are to be employed in the South African Mines.

(Answered by Mr. Secretary Lyttelton.) I have not yet been informed by Lord Milner of the arrangements which will be made, but I have reminded him by telegraph.
