209 thefts of bicycles were reported to the police during the past twelve months; of these seventy-eight were recovered. There were twenty-two thefts last month; in four cases the bicycles were recovered. Twenty-one persons were arrested; sixteen were convicted and five discharged. The police use every endeavour suggested by experience in such matters to bring offenders to justice.
