HC Deb 05 May 1904 vol 134 c544
MR. KENDAL O'BRIEN (Tipperary, Mid)

I beg to ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord-Lieutenant of Ireland if he is aware that at the petty sessions for the district of Dundrum, county Tipperary, several cases requiring to be dealt with by two justices have had to be adjourned by the resident magistrate for four months in succession, owing to the absence of a second magistrate; and, if so, whether, considering the inconvenience occasioned to solicitors, litigants, and witnesses through the foregoing circumstances, he will recommend the Lord Chancellor to consider the advisability of appointing suitable local gentlemen to the commission of the peace on their names being submitted to him.

MR. WYNDHAM

Petty sessions at Dundrum are held once a month. At the February and April sessions only one magistrate was in attendance. I have referred the hon. Member's Question to the Lord Chancellor.
