HC Deb 04 May 1904 vol 134 c377
MR. BRIGG

To ask the Secretary to the Board of Education if it is intended to extend the action of the Education (Local Authority Default) Bill to the authorities who are penalising secondary schools whose trust deeds stipulate that distinctive religious instruction shall be given in the schools, and that the headmaster shall avow belief in certain religious beliefs.

(Answered by Sir William Anson.) The Education (Local Authority Default) Bill applies only to elementary schools, and there is no intention of extending its operation to secondary schools.
