HC Deb 29 March 1904 vol 132 c959
MR. HUNTER CRAIG (Lanarkshire, Govan)

To ask the Secretary for Scotland if his attention has been called to the hardships endured by working men and their families through the custom prevailing on the Clyde of paying wages fortnightly instead of weekly, as in England and Ireland; and whether, in view of the fact that the cost of living is thereby increased, he will consider the necessity of legislating on the subject.

(Answered by Mr. A. Graham Murray.) No. My attention has not been called to the matter referred to in the hon. Member's Question, and in these circumstances I am not contemplating legislation on the subject.
