§ MR. WOOD (Down. E.)To ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord-Lieutenant of Ireland if he has been made aware of the state of the south pier of Donoghadee Harbour, county Down, during the past two years; and whether he is aware that it is during the March spring tides that repairs can best be proceeded with; and, if so, will steps immediately be taken to restore the pier.
(Answered by Mr. Wyndham.) The repairs to the north pier being of a more urgent character were first taken in hand. These have been completed. The execution of repairs to such works is dependent on weather, not tides, and summer is the best time for working. The repairs to the south pier will, if possible, be completed this year.
