§ MR. NOLAN (Louth, S.)I beg to ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord-Lieutenant of Ireland if any action has been taken by the Inspector General of the Royal Irish Constabulary in the case of a constable belonging to that force, who admitted at Dunleer Petty Sessions on 8th December last that he sent his own child (under age) to a public house for half a gallon of porter in an open vessel; and whether the constable in question is still doing duty in the district.
§ MR. WYNDHAMThe occurrence took place twelve months ago and the fact was elicited in the cross-examination of the constable, who had overlooked the requirements of a statute which at that time had but recently come into operation. He was cautioned and remains on duty in the district.
