§ MR. THOMAS O'DONNELL (Kerry, W.)I beg to ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord-Lieutenant of Ireland whether the promised reduction of the average attendance required in Irish national schools for the first assistant from sixty to fifty will apply to teachers at present in the service but under notice of dismissal or withdrawal of salary, because the yearly average of their schools has not reached sixty, but is not below fifty; and, in the case of new appointments, whether the rule begins with 1st April, 1904.
