HC Deb 28 March 1904 vol 132 cc818-9
MR. JOSEPH HOWARD (Middlesex, Tottenham)

To ask the hon. Member for North Huntingdonshire, as representing the President of the Board of Agriculture, if he will state why the portion of Kew Gardens between the Queen's Cottage and the Old Deer Park, after being thrown open last year, has now again been closed to the public; and whether he will give directions to have the gate thrown open, in accordance with the intention of the Royal gift to the nation.

(Answered by Mr. Ailwyn Fellowes.) The grass path through the Queen's Cottage grounds has recently keen drained and levelled and the turf has been relaid. The fences are new being repainted. The grounds will be re-opened to the public as soon as possible, probably about the middle of April, if the weather continues favourable.
