HC Deb 25 March 1904 vol 132 cc746-7
CAPTAIN DONELAN (Cork County, E.)

To ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord-Lieutenant of Ireland if he can explain the cause of the delay that has occurred in connection with the building of a house for the national school teacher at Leamlara, county Cork, in view of the fact that the necessary documents, including lease, were forwarded to the † See (4) Debates, cxviii., 675. Board of Works early last October; whether he is aware that the delay is causing the teacher discomfort and inconvenience; and will he say when the necessary permission to proceed with the work may be expected.

(Answered by Mr. Wyndham.) Any delay that may have occurred is due to a modification of the original plans proposed by the applicant himself. The case is now engaging the consideration of the Board of Works, and if the further inquiries that are being made should be satisfactory the case will be recommended to the Treasury.
